Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1886
(Central Act No. 6 of 1886)
It is extended to the Union Territory Goa,Daman and Diu by The Goa, Daman and Diu (Laws) No. 2 Regulation, 1963 No. 11 of 1963 promulgated by the President of India under Article 240 of the Constitution of India, published in the Government Gazette, Series I No. 22 dated 29-5-1964 and came into force with effect from 1st day of August, 1965 as the date appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Goa, Daman and Diu vied Notification published in the Government Gazette Series-I No 14 dated 1-7-1965
As per the provision of Section 36 of the Act State Government empowers to make the Rules, however presently the Rules are not yet framed by the Government of Goa.
