While replying to Starred Question No. 568 in the Legislative Assembly on 5th July 1995, addressed by late Shri Manohar Parrikar, the then Law Minister Shri Dominic Fernandez informed the House that 43 Portuguese laws were still in force in the State of Goa. The details of these laws were provided in Annexure I attached to the said reply. In that list, this PORTARIA is mentioned at Serial No. 29.

In Portuguese, the term “PORTARIA” means “Order.” This Order was issued during the Portuguese era on 23rd March 1934. English Translation of this Portaria(Order) is not available.
