The Goa Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1968

(Act No   9 of 1968)

                      This Act came into force with effect from 17th February, 1969. As per the provisions of Section 75 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1985( (Central Act 54 of 1985)), on the commencement of any provision of this Act (54 of 1985) in a State, the corresponding provision of any law in force for the time being in that State shall stand repealed, this Act came into force in the State of Goa w.e.f.  30th day of November, 1987 as notified by the Government of Goa vide Notification No. 6/2/86-CSD dated 26-11-1987,(Published in the Official Gazette, Series I No. 35 dated 30-11-1987). Thereafter after enactment of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 which came into force w.e.f. 1st April, 2011, vide notification No. S.O. 210(E), dated 31st January, 2011, (Published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Sec. 3(ii)), the Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1985 also repealed.
