IMMORAL TRAFFIC (PREVENTION) ACT, 1956

This Act was enacted by the Union Government in accordance with the International Convention signed in New York on May 9, 1950, for the Prevention of Immoral Traffic. It came into effect on May 1, 1958. Initially, the Act was known as the Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls.
