Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
(Act No.26 Of 1996)

The Arbitration Act, 1940 (Central Act 10 of 1940) was extended to the Union Territory Goa, Daman and Diu by The Goa, Daman and Diu (Extension of the Code of Civil Procedure and the Arbitration) Act, 1965 No. 30 of 1965  published in the Government Gazette, Series I No. 32 dated 4-11-1965 and came in to force with effect from 15-06-1966 as the date appointed by the Government of India  vide Notification published in the Government Gazette Series- I No.9 dated 02-06-1966. This Act is repealed by the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. (Act No. 26of 1996).

The Act came into force on 22-08-1996.
